The Five Love LanguagesDr. Gary Chapman discovered that each person perceives love in one of 5 ways he called The Five Love Languages. Let's explore each one in order to learn how to love our family better. As you do the exercises, try to figure out which one you are and which one your children are. Usually, people have 1 primary love language and maybe 1 secondary love language. 1. Words of Affirmation Think of something nice to say to each member of the family. Let each family member take a turn. Here are some ideas.
2. Physical Touch Let's do a fun handshake together. Try this one, if you can't come up with one.
3. Gifts Let's play, Guess What's Inside. Ready? Imagine I am giving you a gift. Can you guess what is inside? (Use hand actions to act things out.)
4. Acts of Service Let's play helping hands. What would happen if one of your hands decided to not help the other hand anymore? Let's put one hand behind the back. Could you...?
Let's work together with many hands to get these jobs done quickly and easily. Now, let's try to do it with 2 people, each one using only one hand! It's a little tricky, but we can get it done working together! 5. Quality Time Think of something fun you can do together as a family, and go do it. Here are some ideas.
What is Jesus' new command for us? Read together John 13:34. Jesus showed God's love to people in the different love languages. Make a commitment to love each other in the way each one desires to be loved.

Bible FitnessLet's play an exercise game called Bible Fitness. I will read a verse and we will all do the action mentioned in that verse till I find the next verse. Ready? Listen carefully.
Every Part MattersMoving around sure is lots of fun. What body parts outside and inside help us move around when we march or run? (Get ideas.) You know, if we didn't have toes we would not be able to balance correctly to stay upright. Our brain sends signals to our muscles so that they know exactly when they need to lift our legs up and put them down. Our heart works really hard when we move around. It sends blood to our muscles, so that our muscle cells get the oxygen and food they need to work. Yes, all of our body actually is working together to make it possible for us to move however we want. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 12:25, "God wanted the different parts [of the body] to care the same for each other." Our body is all connected and interdependent. If one part hurts, it keeps us from being able to do lots of things. If everything is healthy and well, we can do lots of things. 8 Special LawsIf we take care of our bodies, we will have the energy and strength to do all that God asks us to do. Do you know how to take care of the body that God gave you? Follow my actions as I share with you 8 ways to keep your body well.
As a family, which health laws do you think we do well at? Which ones do we need to work on? Let's pick one that we all will focus on together and decide how we will do it this month.
