Early Bird Special: What's Missing? Children who arrive between 9:30 and 9:45 AM get to do a bonus activity in Sabbath School. Today, the early birds played a fun game with a nativity set called, What's Missing? Take a good look at the scene. Then close your eyes. Open them to figure out what's missing. Check the gift box to see if you were right. Our Bible story today is about the greatest gift of all, Jesus. Nature Nugget: Autumn Autumn is the time of year when the leaves on the trees change color and fall down. It gets cooler and cooler outside. When it's autumn, you know winter is coming. Dropping their leaves is one way the trees preserve precious energy to prepare for winter. The Bible says in Luke 12:40, "Be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect." We know we are living in the last days of earth's history. Though we don't know the exact time when Jesus is coming, we know He is coming soon. We can prepare for His coming by staying connected to Him through prayer and Bible reading and by sharing Him with others through kind deeds. Memory Mastery: The 10 Commandments We are now memorizing the 10 Commandments. Can you practice them with your children? I have sent home a CD you can play in the car a couple of times a week. It takes only a few minutes. Daily practice is most effective. Children who memorize the 10 Commandments and where we can find them in the Bible will receive real samples of the gifts brought by the wise men to little Jesus - gold (pyrite), frankincense, and myrrh. Each class member is building their very own Bible artifact collection. Mission Mail: Salohy and Yvonne, Part 2 Yvonne finally agreed to go with Salohy to one church meeting at night. Yvonne was surprised that she actually liked all the Bible stories and songs. But Yvonne was nervous to go home. Why? Because she didn't tell her parents she was going out that evening. Uh-oh. Salohy said, "I'll go home with you and explain to them everything." So the two girls went to Yvonne's house. Sure enough, Yvonne's parents were worried and upset. "Where have you been?" they asked. Yvonne said she went to a meeting and didn't think she would stay long. Salohy chimed in as well, "It was a prayer meeting with exciting Bible stories." Yvonne's parents asked Yvonne if she like it. Yvonne said, "Yes, and can I go back again?" Find out next week what Yvonne's parents said. Bible Story: The Best Gift Table Time: The Greatest Gift Paper Craft
