Nature Nugget: Seeds Our nature lesson this week is on seeds. There are so many different kinds. Each plant makes enough to propagate and feed others. Truly God loves variety and is overflowing in provision for us. The Bible says in Matthew 10:8, "Freely you have received, freely give." Memory Mastery: Moses Receives the 10 Commandments We are continuing to memorize the story, Moses Receives the 10 Commandments. Children who memorize their story and where it is found in the Bible will receive a replica of the Widow's Mites to add to their Bible artifact collection. Please check out the 10 Commandments Memory Mastery page to download a copy of the story. Class members receive a file folder review activity to do at home. Mission Mail: Whose God is Stronger Part 2 Check out this week's exciting mission story from Bangladesh at Adventist Mission. Bible Story: God Gives Manna Take Home Project: Grow a Micro Garden
In light of our nature nugget (seeds), the children each received all the supplies they needed to grow broccoli and clover microgreens. Microgreens are itty bitty baby versions of plants or vegetables harvested between 7 and 14 days usually. Microgreens are generally regarded as superfoods because they are more nutrient dense than their mature counterparts. Broccoli micros are very healing because of their high concentration of sulfurophane (anti-cancer, anti-anflammatory, detoxer). Clover is actually a legume, so it is rich in protein. After harvesting, you can cut them up even smaller with scissors when you add them to food. It's a great way to sneak in nutrition on picky eaters. Below are some pictures to help guide you along the way.
