Nature Nugget: Seeds Plants make lots and lots of seeds. Have you ever wondered why they make so many? It's because God wants them to share their seeds so birds, animals, and people can eat some of them. But there are always some left to grow new plants. The Bible says in Matthew 10:8, "Freely you have received, freely give." When we have a lot of something, that means God wants us to share with others, like the plants do. Memory Mastery: Creation Week Our class is working on memorizing the days of creation this quarter. Can you help your child learn them? Children will receive a Bible gem or artifact if they recite this memory mastery assignment. Mission Team: Little Brother Leads Kenneth is the youngest in his family, and all his siblings were much older than he was. Kenneth's friends went off to an Adventist boarding school. Kenneth was bored and lonely. Finally, he decided he wanted to join his friends at the boarding school, so he got permission from his parents to go. At the Adventist boarding school, Kenneth learned more and more about the Bible. He liked that his teachers always showed him in the Bible what they taught. Kenneth decided he wanted to be baptized and be an Adventist Christian. Though his father is not interested in changing religions and not working on Sabbaths, Kenneth's mom has started going with him to church when he is home. One of Kenneth's brothers has studied at an Adventist high school and wants to be baptized. Kenneth wants to share Jesus with other friends. Nature Nugget: The Moon The moon is the biggest object we can see in the night sky. It's interesting how it seems to change shape throughout the month. Did you know the moon is orbiting around us on earth? It takes about a month for it to finish making a full circuit around us. As it goes around us, the sun's light reflects off of it from a different angle. This is how it seems to change shape. The Bible says, "Praise Him, sun and moon; praise Him, all you stars of light!" No matter if the moon is full or a sliver crescent shape, it shines brightly for Jesus. Even when we cannot see the moon's light at the new moon stage, it is still there shining for Jesus, just in a different direction from us on earth. Do you always shine bright for Jesus with good works when people can see you or not? I hope so. Memory Mastery: Creation Week This quarter our class is memorizing the days of creation with hand motions. I hope you can practice with your child at home, so we can present this story to the church during divine worship. We are also learning the chorus to the song, All Things Bright and Beautiful. You can listen to the creation story and practice along here with me. Mission Team: A New Friend for Jesus Kibogo and his family live in Kenya. They love Jesus. Kibogo and his parents befriend a man named Steve who lives by the river and has a drinking problem. One day Kibogo decides to bring his new friend some clothes. Kibogo and his parents pray for Steve and encourage him to give his drinking problem to God. Finally, Steve decides he wants to quit drinking after hearing a news report on contaminated beer. Steve comes to church and asks God to help him quit. One day, Steve announces at church that God gave him the victory over alcohol and that he wants to be baptized. Everyone is so happy for him! Steve is an active, productive member at church now. He has job and is saving up for a new house. Prayer and friendship can change lives. Who can you reach out to and help?
