Early Bird Special: Lacing Cards Children who arrive before 9:45 AM get to a bonus activity in Sabbath School. Today the early birds practiced their lacing skills on objects that remind us how we can help others. Our Bible story today is about Dorcas who made clothes for the needy. Nature Nugget: Dogs During our nature lesson, children talked about what they liked about dogs. Then, we focused on the fact that dogs are so good at learning obedience, that they can even be entrusted with very important responsibilities, like rescuing people, detecting bad things, helping the disabled. In Deuteronomy 15:5, the Bible says, "Carefully obey the voice of the Lord your God." Check out how this service dog helps this little girl. Memory Mastery: Moses Receives the 10 Commandments We are still practicing this story from our Bible timeline until the children learn the title and where it is found in the Bible. This is what I at least want them to be able to say: "Moses Receives the 10 Commandments, Exodus chapter 24 and chapter 31 verse 18." It's on your Memory Mastery CD. If you can, please play the CD a couple of times a week, so your child can practice with me while looking at their booklet. Mission Mail: Mbali's Story Mbali is a second grade student at Riverside Adventist School in Cape Town, South Africa. She didn't know English when she got there, but she learned quickly and now tries to help other students. She even practiced reading a Bible story aloud, so that she could tell the story at a church for a school program. Her mother, who is not an Adventist, is now interested in attending programs at Adventist churches. Mbali wants to be a nurse and tell others about Jesus. Bible Story: Helping Hands Table Time: Dorcas Makes Clothes Coloring Page
At the table, the children colored a picture that reminded them of their Bible story.

Meeting Theme: Fire Safety Much thanks to my mom, Sonia Walden, for making arrangements with the Goochland County Fire Department to visit the Eager Beavers at Richmond Academy today. I also want to thank firemen Matthew Smith, Scott Walker, and Billy McGuire for giving the children an exciting fire safety lesson. Eager Beaver Cheer We opened our meeting with our Eager Beaver Cheer, which recites the pledge that the children are supposed to memorize this year. Then, we had opening prayer. Up Close with the Fire Truck Fire Safety Lesson Firemen Scott Walker, Billy McGuire, and Matthew Smith showed the Eager Beavers what a fireman looks like if he has to come and rescue them. They showed that firemen look out for each other and have different alarms on them to alert each other if one is in trouble. The firemen also answered the key 3 questions Eager Beavers must know.
