Eager Beaver Cheer We open our meeting with our Eager Beaver cheer that has the pledge that the children must learn this year in order to get their pin. I would appreciate if you would practice their pledge at home with them. Meeting Themes: Birds and Jigsaw Puzzle We continued working on our Birds chip today, while starting the Jigsaw Puzzle chip. The children completed several activities station-style.
Bible Story: Noah's Ark Children listened to the Noah's Ark story to find out what bird God used to help Noah find out that dry land was there. Below is a poem from part of the Noah's Ark story entitled, Noah Inside the Ark. Can you hear what bird is mentioned in this Bible story? Eager Beaver Promise We end our meeting with singing our Eager Beaver promise, Philippians 4:4, which the children must learn this year in order to get their pin. Thankfully, most children already know this verse. Announcements
Early Bird Special: Hidden Pictures Children who arrive between 9:30 and 9:45 AM get to do a bonus activity in Sabbath School. Today our early birds looked for objects in hidden pictures Bible pages to remind them of our Bible story today when Saul lost his sight on the road to Damascus looking for Christians. Nature Nugget: Moon Today during nature time, the children learned that the moon reflects light from the sun at night. Because different parts of the moon are in "shade," it's shape seems to change - called moon phases. God says in Genesis 1:14, "Then God said, 'Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years.'" The moon's cycles help us keep up with the months of the year. Check out this very clear and visual explanation showing why the moon seems to change its shape. Mission Mail: The Missing Glasses Our mission story is about an 11-year old girl named Valerie who attends Riverside Adventist School in Cape Town, South Africa. Valerie is not an Adventist, but she had a special answer to prayer to encouraged her family's faith. One day while playing during recess, Valerie lost her glasses. She was so sad. The teacher invited all the children to pray and then search for the glasses. When the children returned to recess later that day, a few girls knelt again to pray that God would show them where to find Valerie's glasses. Then they saw the glasses in the soccer field. Valerie was so happy. The teacher prayed with the class again to thank God for helping them find Valerie's glasses. Bible Story: A Blind Man Learns to Lead Table Time: Jesus Stops Saul Picture
