Learning Objectives for Early Elementary Sabbath School

I have built into our class time learning rituals we do every week, so that our kids come away from Sabbath School having learned important knowledge about knowing God, understanding the Bible, and belonging to the church.  I also send home Memory Mastery work for children to practice at home for select learning objectives that we may focus on for a quarter.  

After completing their years in Early Elementary Sabbath School class, children should know the following…

About Jesus
  • Jesus died on the cross for our sins.
  • Jesus is in heaven serving as our Great High Priest.  But, He is here with us through the Holy Spirit.
  • Jesus is coming back in the clouds to take us to be with Him forever.
About the Bible
  • The Bible is divided up into 2 big parts – the Old Testament and the New Testament.
  • A story overview of Bible history in the form of a timeline
  • Ten Commandments
  • Days of Creation
  • John 3:16
  • Doctrinal Statements/Songs on the Second Coming, Salvation, Sabbath, Godhead, Law, and the Bible
  • The location of Israel on a world map
About the Church and the World
  • We belong to a world-wide family – the Seventh-day Adventist Church!
  • As a world-wide church family, we help our brothers and sisters in Christ fulfill God’s mission through the 13th Sabbath mission project.
  • The location of the United States and the seven continents on a map of the world

  • God speaks to us through 2 special books – the Bible and the book of nature.
