Early Bird Special: Count Your Chickens Game Children who arrive before 9:45 AM get to a bonus activity in Sabbath School. Today the early birds played a cooperative game called Count Your Chickens that reminded them that we win when we work together as a team. In Count Your Chickens, everyone works together to help Mama Hen get her chicks back into the coop. Our nature story is about the members of the chicken family. Our Bible story today is about God's early church learning to work together to help each other. Nature Nugget: Chickens During our nature lesson, children learned about the chicken family. Daddy chicken, the rooster, wakes everyone up on the farm. Mommy chicken, the hen, takes care of the eggs and the baby chicks after they hatch. Baby chicks listen carefully for mommy chicken's call, Cluck, Cluck. They know when she calls, they need to run and hide under her wings where they are safe. The Bible says in Colossians 3:20, "Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord." Learn to identify some common chicken breeds in this video below. Memory Mastery: Moses Receives the 10 Commandments We are still working on learning this special story from our Bible timeline. I gave out CDs and booklets today that you can play for the children in the car, so they can practice their memory mastery Bible story. You can check out the 10 Commandments memory mastery page for more information on this topic. Below is what the children are expected to memorize to earn their Bible artifact.
Mission Mail: Walking with Lions Part 1 Takila, one of our Global Mission pioneers, is working in an area of Zambia where no one knows about Jesus. In fact, people rely on the witch doctor for help and guidance instead of God. Takila visits a village and tells the people about Jesus. On his way to another village, he sees lions in the distance, and it's obvious that they see him. Next week we will find out what happens next.
