Early Bird Special: Going on a Trip Children who arrive between 9:30 and 9:45 AM get to do a bonus activity in Sabbath School. Today, the early birds examine a travel bag to see what things they might need to pack to get ready for a trip. They discovered some items that didn't belong. In our Bible story, we will talk about the greatest trip we will take when we go with Jesus to heaven. We won't take anything on that trip but our characters. Nature Nugget: Grapes ![]() Grapes are fun, bite-sized berries that grow on a vine. Grapes come in many different colors - blue, green, purple, red. When grapes are left to dry in the sun, they shrivel up and become raisins. When you press the grapes, you can make grape juice. The first miracle Jesus performed was at a wedding. He turned water into grape juice! In John 2:10, the master of the wedding feast said to Jesus, "Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!" Next time you drink grape juice or eat grapes, remember that Jesus always gives us His very best answer when we ask for His help. Memory Mastery: The 10 Commandments We are memorizing the 10 Commandments now. You are encouraged to play the memory work CD I gave you in the car a couple of times a week, so the children can practice along with me while they follow along in their Look and Listen booklet. Feel free to help your child memorize the commandments in a different Bible version if you prefer. Mission Mail: 13th Sabbath Special Offering Today is the 13th Sabbath of the quarter. It's time for the world church to come together through their Sabbath school offerings to help one of our divisions. Watch the video below to see what God is doing in the Southern Africa - Indian Ocean Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Early Bird Special: Magnifying Pictures Children who arrive between 9:30 and 9:45 AM get to do a bonus activity in Sabbath School. Today the early birds used magnifying glasses to see tiny pictures of God's creation and match them up with their bigger image counterparts. Our Bible story today is about Simeon and Anna who were able to see something special in tiny baby Jesus. Simeon told God, "My eyes have seen Your Salvation" (Luke 2:30). Nature Nugget: Electricity Today, the children learned that electricity is the flowing movement of electrons or charged ions, and that movement gives power to do all kinds of things. In our bodies electricity helps our brain tell our muscles what to do, and it helps our muscles tell our brains what they are feeling. Electricity is also when lightning strikes. It can be very dangerous if too much electrical current touches you. We usually cannot see electricity, but we can see how it powers things on. Materials that allow electricity to flow are called conductors. We played with the "Energy Stick" to see that we are conductors, too. The Bible says in Luke 6:19, "And the whole multitude sought to touch [Jesus], for power went out from Him and healed them all." Jesus was a conductor of God's healing power. We can still touch Him by faith through prayer and claiming His Bible promises. Memory Mastery: The 10 Commandments We are working on memorizing the 10 Commandments with the Bible references, Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5. Children can still earn their widow's mite coins by reciting their Moses Receives the 10 Commandments story line and Bible reference. Mission Mail: Salohy and Yvonne, Part 3 Yvonne and Salohy asked Yvonne's parents if Yvonne could continue attending the church meetings at night. Yvonne's parents agreed. Salohy invited Yvonne's parents to come, too, but they said no. Yvonne and Salohy continued to go to the meetings. They had so much fun learning more about Jesus from the Bible and singing songs. They also kept inviting other friends. When the meetings started, there were only 9 children. By the time the meetings ended, their were 32 children. Yvonne and Salohy were real missionaries for Jesus. Bible Story: Dedicated to God Table Time: Simeon Blesses Jesus Coloring Page Take Home Guide
