Eager Beavers September 23 Meeting

Registration and Announcements
We had a great turn out for our Orientation Meeting, 7 Eager Beavers ready to have fun.  During Orientation, parents filled out registration and health record forms and heard the following announcements:

• Please check this website, http://PattersonKids.Info, for up-to-date information on Eager Beavers, including calendar of events, review of meeting activities, and photos.
• A dedicated section of the website will be password protected, so that only parents of active members can access pictures.
• We generally will meet 2 Wednesdays out of the month that are worked around Richmond Academy's schedule.  We need to meet a total of 20 times, so one month we will need to add 1 extra meeting.
• There are 23 "chips" the children can earn during Eager Beavers.  In order to complete them all, parents are welcome to keep their children in Eager Beavers for 2 years.
• Uniforms consist of a T-shirt and a sash (to put "chips" on).  Total cost for both is about $12.  You may write a check out to Patterson AVE SDA Church and give that to Inga Goodwin DURING Wednesday night meetings.  I do not like to exchange money on Sabbaths.  Meanwhile, email me to let me know if you want me to go ahead and order your child's T-shirt and sash, and you can bring your money to the next meeting.
• Eager Beavers is a parent-child activity.  That means, parents are expected to stay with their Eager Beavers and assist them with their activities.  It's a great time to bond with your child.
• Enrollment is still open.  Children in grades pre-K through 1st, attending Far West End SDA Church, Richmond Academy, and Patterson AVE SDA Church, are encouraged to participate.  
  
• Next meeting is Wednesday, October 7.  

Meeting Theme: Are You an Eager Beaver?
During this meeting, children learned two qualities of Eager Beavers.

• Eager Beavers are busy workers.
• Eager Beavers serve God.

Activity 1: Help the HexBug "Eager Beavers" build a dam.

Activity 2: Make a take-home reminder of the Eager Beaver pledge.
