Early Bird Special: Nativity Floor Puzzle
Children who arrive between 9:30 and 9:45 AM get to do a bonus activity in Sabbath School.  Today our early birds worked together to put together a giant nativity floor puzzle.  Our Bible story today is about angels who visited Mary, Joseph, and the Shepherds to tell them about the coming birth of baby Jesus.

Nature Nugget: Cactus
During nature time, the children learned about a desert plant called a cactus.  The cactus has thorns on it to protect it from bugs and animals that might try to eat it.  Be careful when coming close to a cactus.  The thorns hurt!  To survive in the desert where it rains very little, the cactus draws up water from the ground and stores it in its body for days when there is no water.  It is very careful not waste any water it can find.  The Bible says in John 6:12, "Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost."  We should be careful too with what we have, to not waste and to save up for others that might have need.  Below is a neat video glimpse into (wild) life in the desert from dawn until the next morning.

Memory Mastery: The 10 Commandments
We are finally ready to start learning our 10 Commandments!  These are also on the CDs I sent home with you, as well as the file folder review activity.  Let your child really focus on the visual cue of the commandment, so they can picture it in their minds.  I expect the children to learn how to recite the commandments in order along with the Bible reference of where they are found.  We will be practicing these in class till they learn them.  Listen below.

Mission Mail: Salohy and Yvonne, Part 1
Salohy is 10 years old and lives in Madagascar.  She has a friend named Yvonne.  One day Salohy invited Yvonne to come to some Bible meetings in the evening.  Yvonne said no.  Salohy asked the next day.  Yvonne again said no.  Salohy tried to encourage her friend.  "The Bible meetings are lots of fun.  We hear exciting Bible stories!"  Still Yvonne said no.  When Salohy asked the next day, Yvonne said, "Stop asking me to go to these meetings.  I don't want to go."  Salohy said, "I will stop asking when you come just one time."  Do you think Yvonne will give the meetings a try?
