Sabbath School July 9
Early Bird Special: Bible Lacing Shapes
Children who arrive between 9:30 and 9:45 AM get to do a bonus activity in Sabbath School. Today our early birds laced various Bible shapes and learned about different stitching techniques used in sewing. Our Bible story today is about a mother who made her son a coat every year for his service to God.
Nature Nugget: Roses
Roses are beautiful flowers that we sometimes give as gifts when we want to show someone they are special to us. One big difference between the roses in a bouquet and the roses outside is that the roses outside have thorns on their stem. You would probably need an adult to help you get a rose from a rose bush because the thorns are very sharp. Ouch! When God made the plants at the beginning, there were no thorns. But the Bible says in Genesis 3:18 of the ground that after Adam and Eve sinned, "both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you." Whenever you see the thorns on the rose bush, you remember that sin hurts. It hurts you, it hurts others, it hurts God. Let's ask God to help us never want to sin.
Memory Mastery: Creation Week
We are learning what God made on each day of creation. Children who memorize the days of creation will earn a special gem or stone mentioned in the Bible to add to their Bible artifact collection. You can practice along with me right here.
Mission Team: Rescued from Satan
Mrs. Aziza's son, Moderne, was possessed by demons. He was only 9 years old. The demons would hurt him, scare him, and make him sick. As he fought them, he broke many things. Doctors could not help him, but Mrs. Aziza remembered that Jesus could cast out demons, so she prayed. Every time she said the name of Jesus, the demons would make Moderne cover his ears. But, Mrs. Aziza kept praying. She decided to fast and pray for 3 days. She taught Moderne to pray in the name of Jesus. Soon, all the demons left him! Moderne is now 14 years old. He loves Jesus and teaches others the importance of prayer. We can pray to God, too, for help. Sometimes we have to keep praying, but God will answer and deliver us.
